Background of the Study
Fintech solutions have emerged as powerful tools for enhancing corporate banking operations by streamlining processes, reducing costs, and improving customer experiences. Access Bank Nigeria in Kano has integrated a range of fintech innovations—including blockchain for secure transactions, digital lending platforms, and AI-driven risk analytics—into its corporate banking framework. These solutions enable the bank to automate routine processes, enhance decision-making, and deliver customized financial products to large corporate clients. The adoption of fintech has led to faster loan processing, improved risk management, and enhanced data accuracy, which collectively contribute to better operational performance (Oluwaseun, 2023; Adenola, 2024). Furthermore, fintech solutions facilitate seamless integration of various banking functions, enabling real‑time monitoring and rapid response to market changes. However, challenges such as system integration with legacy platforms, high implementation costs, and regulatory uncertainties pose significant barriers to full-scale adoption. This study appraises the impact of fintech solutions on corporate banking operations at Access Bank, examining both the benefits and challenges, and providing recommendations for optimizing fintech integration.

Statement of the Problem
Access Bank Nigeria encounters challenges in fully leveraging fintech solutions to enhance corporate banking operations. Integration issues between innovative fintech tools and existing legacy systems often result in data fragmentation and operational inefficiencies. The high cost of deploying and maintaining fintech solutions, combined with regulatory uncertainties, further complicates the adoption process. Additionally, a lack of specialized expertise in emerging fintech technologies among staff can lead to underutilization of these tools, thereby reducing their potential benefits. These issues result in delays in service delivery, increased operational risks, and reduced customer satisfaction, ultimately impacting the bank’s competitive position and profitability (Oluwaseun, 2023; Adenola, 2024; Chukwu, 2025).
